A Mission, A Niece, A Holiday, A Cold?

Today is Halloween! One year ago yesterday I proposed to Megan, she said No...not really.

A lot has happened this last month. Ben left on his mission to Argentina on the 14th, Mari had our little niece sofia on the 22nd and...well nothing much besides those two events. Which I must admit seem like quite a lot.

Ben is currently in the MTC in Provo where he is learning the spanish language. He is going to be serving in the Buenos Aires North mission. Which interestingley not only covers the northern part of the city Buenos Aires but also the southern most part of south america, where it reaches ridiculously low temps. So far, so good for Elder Vera.

Litlle Sofia Raquel Barton joined the fam on the 22nd and weighed a little over 9 LBS! Good thing Mari had her early! Both mom and baby are doing great and Dad, steve, is still over in the desert. (Sofia wore her camoflauge army suit for halloween! :) )

As for Meg and I here in good ole Elkhorn we are doing just fine. Jobs are good and school is stressful. We have recently been called to serve as primary teachers and we have had a couple of lessons already. We are loving it so far and the kids are all really great and well behaved. We have 8 total in the class and next sunday is our primary program, so anyone in the area that feels up to coming it will be at 12:45 pm on November 7 in the LDS church house at 180th and Maple.

Megan seems to have come down with a cold. Sadly she has been waking up with a lot of drainage and the sore throat, aching ears and pounding head ache that comes with it. I am hoping she gets better soon and that she does not pass it on to me!

Halloween was awesome! We just handed out candy, hung out with our little cousin and watched football (our utes got lucky).

Anyway, gotta run...if anyone needs candy let me know we have WAY too much left over!
