Not Too Cool For School

Andrew and I are both currently going to school as of today.  We had been discussing Andrew's schooling situation for a while now and had thought that online schooling through Utah State would probably be best for his schedule, but then decided that it would be more beneficial for him to actually go to class.  I think he's a little nervous about doing school again because he hasn't been enrolled for a year, but I know he will do great.  He is such a hard worker and I am so excited for him to be back in school.  Here's a little taste of what our schedules will be like for the next 15 weeks.

Andrew-
8 am-5pm- work at wells fargo
5:15-6:30- Bussiness class
6:30-7:30-Gym
7:30-10:00- Another business class

Megan-
6:00am-2:00pm- Work at Vista
2:00-4:30- Technolgy in Education class
4:35-7:30- Linguistics class

7 Wants

1. To have my degree...already
2. A house, I am so sick of living in these townhomes. I would never reccommend them to anyone; they're a joke. (Venting)
3. Currenly, for my husband to be able to come home after work but he has school until 10 :(
4. Kids... in a couple years
5. To take a risk
6. Get in the habit of exercising at least once a day.  This 2-3 times a week just isn't cutting it.
7. To work on finding the good in everyone and everything

Let Give This Another Try

  • I still get scared to be home alone in the dark.  I even run by the windows if the blinds are open, just in case someone is out there
  • I'm anxious!  There's never a time I'm not stressing about something.  School, Work, Laundry, Bills, the future, the past,  I can always find something to stress about.
  • I watch soap operas, I even DVR mine so I never have to miss it.
  • I'm super competetive, possibly too competetive.
  • I don't cook.  I could probably be good at it if I tried, but I just don't like to take the time.  I'd rather have a bowl of cereal.
  • I tell people that flowers are a waste of money, but I still love getting them.
  • I'm obsessed with taking pictures
  • I want a puppy so bad, mostly to keep me busy which prevents me from stressing so much
  • I am a horrible singer.  I guess that's not really a secret
  • I love getting my hair done because of the gossip I get caught up on

NEBRASKA.... The Good Life

When we drove into Nebraska the sign said, "Welcome to the Good Life".  I decided that Utah's sign should say, "Welcome to the Real Life".  I love going to Nebraska.  It's always so relaxing and this trip wasn't any different.  This spring, my dad got a new place on the river and we spent alot of time down there fishing and relaxing, my grandpa even drove down to fish with us for a couple days.  Unfortunately we didn't do much swimming until the day before we left because the river was so high and the weather was cooler, but we still had alot of fun.

While we were there we were able to:
  •  Spend a couple days with my grandma.  We took her out for her birthday, canned peaches and had a bbq with the rest of the family.
  • Get Sushi with the cousins
  • Ride the dune buggy
  • Listen to a good thunderstorm
We decided to head back to Utah at 4am Saturday morning, that's 3am Utah time and since I was used to getting up early I decided to drive first.  I had been driving for 5 hours and had started seeing signs that I was getting close to Sydney. After about 30 miles, Andrew finally woke up and asked where we were.  I told him that we should be to Sidney anytime and he decided to check his phone to see how far we had and luckily he did.  When he pulled up his GPS it said that we were on Highway 76 and we were in Colorado...  HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! Ha I still don't know for sure, but I think it was a combination of the fatigueness and the fact that I was traveling at speeds between 95-100MPH.  Either way I was frustrated and so embarrassed.  Fortunately I was able to make my way back to I-80 and it only took us 40 extra minutes.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun

I had been looking forward to the last weekend in July for weeks.  The reason for this was that the last weekend in July was Haley's bachorlette party.  We started the party in Cedar City with some old friends from high school and newer friends from college.  We played a few games and then headed out for a scavenger hunt that Haley had to complete.  Her list of tasks to complete included slapping a random guys butt, getting a group of guys to serenade her and to take a picture in the mens bathroom.  We had a blast doing the scavenger hunt and afterwards made our way back to Haley's house to just hangout with everyone.

On saturday, six of us girls made our way down to Vegas for the rest of the bachorlette party.  We stopped in St George and did some shopping for our party dresses and as soon as we got to our hotel room we began getting ready for the night.  Picture this- we had 6 girls trying to get ready in 1 tiny hotel room.... our room looked like a tornado went through it.  As soon as we got ready we walked down to Ceasars Palace to eat at the Cheese Cake Factory and then headed to Thunder Down Under.  We had a blast, but while trying to get to and from our destinations our feet took a beating from our heels so we ended up walking the strip BAREFOOT!!  EW EW EW it still grosses me out to think about, but yes it happened.

The weekend was so much fun and it was nice to spend time with the girls. Hopefully Haley enjoyed her last weekend as a single woman as much as I enjoyed spending it with her.

All crammed into Kylee's car
Kami, Sarah, Megan, Me, Kylee and Haley

The bachorlette and I at the end of the night.  I was tired!

What An End

The midnight showing of the final Harry Potter movie was the 8th out of 8 midnight showings that Megan and I have gone to. Though not all of them have been together, the last three (the best three) have been! For this showing we took bailey along for the ride. We had a blast!

There were quite a few emotions in there Vera house hold about this final film because we are both such huge fans. We were excited to see how the final stand off between Harry and Voldemort went down in the movie. (It was my favorite part in the seventh book) Also, it seemed like there was still quite a bit to be covered in the movie if it was going to actually tell the story. It was a little bittersweet because it was the final movie…no more books no more movies…life without Harry...hmm interesting.

The midnight show was awesome, it was the first 3d movie Megan and I have ever seen (with exception to the short flicks at Disneyland) and it was sweet! I think that whenever I go to a movie in the theatre I will always go to the 3d version if it’s possible. The glasses were also the classic Harry glasses, which made it even better.

Before we went in to the theatre Bailey and Megan ran to Wal-Mart to get what I thought would be a “few” snacks…Megan came back with 20 pounds of drinks and candy stuffed in to her purse! Her purse looked like she was trying to smuggle in another muggle!

I have to admit this is the first midnight showing of the 8 that I have been to that I have not fallen asleep…that tells you how good this movie is! It is also the only HP flick that I haven’t felt like they could have done more in…We saw it twice in two days, just sayin. It was a great way to end a small chapter in our amazing lives together.
Bailey and I waiting for the movie to start
