It's Official

This week has been pretty action-packed with all of our Christmas parties, a wedding, my mom visiting, Haley visiting, packing... yes I said packing and yes we are moving. So this action-packed week leaves me with no excuses to not blog because we actually have things to blog about.
I'll start with the big news that was made official last monday. Andrew and I are moving back to Utah On December 27th. Andy will be transferring through Wells Fargo which is nice because he enjoys working there and I will start school at The U in January. We are going to be living in Stansbury in the townhomes next to the highway. I'm a little nervous about going from a house into something smaller because it was hard enough to find room for all of our stuff in the house, I have a feeling we will be purging some of our things to eliminate clutter. Overall we are very excited to start a new-fangled adventure!
This past weekend we went to my Cousin, Levi's Wedding. We had alot of fun spending time with family and of course dancing. Andrew got to show my family his awesome, gangster dance moves. I think my mom loved them the most, she kept telling people to watch "her son in-law's" dance moves. She was pretty proud, as she should be because his dance moves are quite remarkable haha. My friend Haley Came out sunday night. It was so nice to have her here and just hangout like we used to. And like usual Andy showed us a good time, we are always laughing when he's around because he is always giving us reasons to make fun of him. I swear he does it on purpose but it's fine with me because we get a good laugh. Speaking of Andrew making me laugh, last night Andrew picked me up from work and as we're walking up stairs, he takes off his suit jacket and there is toilet paper hanging out of the top of his pants and not just a little bit. I'm talking 4 or 5 squares dangling out of there. I laughed for about an hour and have been telling the story all day.
Well I'm training the girl who will be taking my place, so I better get back to work. We love everyone back home and can't wait to see you soon.

Wicked Cool

I am updating the blog because of our weekend we spent down in KC Missouri.

It was the first time for me, andy. The city was pretty big and really dirty. As we were looking for our exit we accidentally missed it and ended up going in to Kansas City, Kansas. It was the dirtiest city I have ever seen in my life. For not being that big and definitely not the biggest city i have ever been to by a long shot (Toronto) it was amazingly dirty and terribly ugly! Luckily we found our way back to Mizzou and found our hotel.

After checking in to our hotel we decided to go check out some of the local restaurants, preferably a BBQ joint (KC is known for there barbecue). We made our way down to what they call the Plaza where we were directed to the location of Fiorelas Jack Stack Barbecue. If you think you know what barbecue is or what it should smell or taste like, it is very likely that you have NO IDEA what that is unless you have eaten at this KC original. It is near impossible for me to describe the aromas and the out of this world tastes that they provide at this institution.

After stuffing ourselves past what I thought was possible we made our way back to the hotel to sleep it off so that we would have enough energy for that evenings activities.

That night we went to see the musical Wicked. It was amazing! Easily the best show I have seen live and i have seen quite an array of shows. Everything about it was awesome, the best part was the girl who play Elphaba, the wicked witch, I have never in my life heard someone sing so well. I am not sure if anyone has heard this girl before but if you have you are lucky!
I think Meg really enjoyed herself, it was her first musical besides the high schools Les Mis earlier this year.

The entire trip was really nice and especially because we were just away from the everyday things in our lives and alone with each other.

This week we are trying to figure out a game plan for Christmas...it is kind of hard. With so many families doing so many different things makes it difficult.

One more thing about the trip. We had heard a lot of good things about these places called "Waffle House". Horrible, don't go there...dirty workers, dirty store, dirty tables, dirty dishes, dirty food.

That's SICK!

And not in the cool way. Yes, Andrew and I are are both sick :(. It all started Sunday morning, we woke up, Andy was fine but I wasn't feeling well (sinus infection). Then sunday night we got home from a little game night at my Aunts and Andy starts getting the chills and achy body, you know the typical flu symptoms and it all went down hill from there. Monday and Tuesday Andrew stayed home sick from work. I felt so bad for him. I got home from work on Monday and he tried standing up, his whole body was shaking uncontrolably. By Tuesday his temperature had gone down a little and by wednesday he was left with a very sore throat and an ear ache. I on the other hand have had it easy compared to him, a minor sore throat and the loss of my voice. We had fun with my voice last night. I usually don't sing in front of Andrew because it's just not a pretty things. Even in church I've admitted to just pretending to sing. Anyway, last night I told Andy I would sing for him because I actually had an excuse for being bad this time. We had a good laugh. Everytime I would try to hit a high note my voice would either go out or squeak really bad and go higher than I've ever heard my voice go. I don't think Andrew could deny that he was impressed by my singing ability.

Well I better get back to work, just wanted to give a quick update!

Here are a couple Random pics we've taken the last month

Visiting the Fam back in Utah
Andy and Elliott Jones

Going on 5 months!?

Well I thought I would check our blog because it'sbeen a while and I wanted to see what Andrew blogged about last night and I realized Andy has posted the last two posts so it is my turn. Yes, my husband enjoys blogging. I know, I'm lucky.

It's weird to think and I can hardly believe it but in only 6 days Andy an dI will have been married for 5 months. It's gone by so fast but I guess that's what happens when you're having fun and I must say we're having a blast. We're staying busy with work and school but we always find time for fun. Andy won a game at work called "toss up". We've been playing it almost every night, it's quite entertaining. We've also played office trivia a few times. The first time we played we were with Tony, Amy, Kevin and Whitney and I totally got dominated. Ever since then I try to pay attention to the details when I watch the office. My goal is to eventually be able to beat Kevin and Whitney but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon.

A couple months back I think I blogged about a kitten we got. His name is Elliott Jones and he is one expensive cat. At first we thought we would get a puppy but after some consideration we decided that we didn't have time for a puppy and we had other things we'd rather put our money towards. I thought that a cat would be much easier and cheaper. Andy's excuse for this was that he is allergic to cats and it would make him sick. Come to find out that was a lie Andrew told me because he doesn't like cats... except Elliott. We found Elliott at my Grandma and Grandpa's farm. He kept following Andrew and bawling until Andy picked him up. Andrew said we could keep him if he stayed outside ( at this time Andy was still sticking to his story that he was allergic). We figured the cat itself is free, we'll get it food and come toys and be set right? WRONG! This cheap cat turned into a $600 cat after vet bills and he is still on his medication and has to go back to the vet next week. Hopefully he will be all better. Anyway we've decided we have the coolest cat in the world. His personality is a mix between a human and a dog. He begs like a dog. He will sit in front of the fridge and bawl when he wants milk, then by the sink when he wants food and when we eat... well we have to kennel him up when we eat because his begging is so out of control. He also goes to the door when he has to go to the bathroom, just like a dog. Elliott has this little mousey toy that he loves. He carries it around the house, sleeps with it and even cleans it like it's his baby. Needless to say, he loves his mouse. He also love Andy. It's so fun to watch them play every night. you can probably guess that Andy's little secret about his allergies came out. He was only saying that because he didn't want a cat, but now that we have El he loves him.

Ever wondered what it's like to have to jump start your car everytime you want to go somewhere, including having to ask your co-workers to jump you so you can make it home? If so, ask Andrew. Yes, Little Green is finally dying. The first time it wouldn't start we thought the cabin light got left on, the second time we thought it was the headlights but the third time we knew something was wrong. We got a new battery and that helped for about a day but now we have to jump it everytime. anyone who has seen Andrew's 1960, I mean 1995 Dodge Avenger knows it's not worth putting much money into. So we've had the pleasure of car shopping :). For me it's a pleasure but not so much for Andrew. We've just been looking around for now but I think soon we'll be making a purchase.

Overall things are going great here in Nebraska. Married life is the best and I love it. I guess it's easy when you have a wonderful husband like I do.
Well I should probably go get ready. We're having dinner and playing games at my aunts tonight. We'll try not to wait so long to update the blog again. We miss and love everyone back in Utah.

A Mission, A Niece, A Holiday, A Cold?

Today is Halloween! One year ago yesterday I proposed to Megan, she said No...not really.

A lot has happened this last month. Ben left on his mission to Argentina on the 14th, Mari had our little niece sofia on the 22nd and...well nothing much besides those two events. Which I must admit seem like quite a lot.

Ben is currently in the MTC in Provo where he is learning the spanish language. He is going to be serving in the Buenos Aires North mission. Which interestingley not only covers the northern part of the city Buenos Aires but also the southern most part of south america, where it reaches ridiculously low temps. So far, so good for Elder Vera.

Litlle Sofia Raquel Barton joined the fam on the 22nd and weighed a little over 9 LBS! Good thing Mari had her early! Both mom and baby are doing great and Dad, steve, is still over in the desert. (Sofia wore her camoflauge army suit for halloween! :) )

As for Meg and I here in good ole Elkhorn we are doing just fine. Jobs are good and school is stressful. We have recently been called to serve as primary teachers and we have had a couple of lessons already. We are loving it so far and the kids are all really great and well behaved. We have 8 total in the class and next sunday is our primary program, so anyone in the area that feels up to coming it will be at 12:45 pm on November 7 in the LDS church house at 180th and Maple.

Megan seems to have come down with a cold. Sadly she has been waking up with a lot of drainage and the sore throat, aching ears and pounding head ache that comes with it. I am hoping she gets better soon and that she does not pass it on to me!

Halloween was awesome! We just handed out candy, hung out with our little cousin and watched football (our utes got lucky).

Anyway, gotta run...if anyone needs candy let me know we have WAY too much left over!

utes, huskers, school

I have not updated in a long while. I have been incredibley busy with work and school. Taking 15 online credits and working full time is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Last week college football started and I love it! The utes beat up on the ags! And this week meg and I are going to the husker game at Memorial Stadium, thanks to Randy for getting us tickets. I am really excited about that, the place is huge and there will be around 100000 people there. Meg and I have been pretty blessed lately and man are we grateful. She is such an amazing wife and supporter of me. She also does little things I don't deserve. I definately married up!
I am currently working at wells fargo and am loving it. Though I can't wait to get promoted to a banker, I know I have to be patient and prove myself. I better get to going. Go utes!

Scabies?

I thought I would give a little update since the last time I blogged Andrew's skin issues hadn't appeared. We aren't too sure what's going on all we know is whatever it is it's spreading... And I haven't gotten it yet. It started out looking like bug bites on his arm. Some of them were in a straight line and there were 3 of them. Then they started to spread, get bigger and itch. Within two days his arms were covered and it seemed like they would always show up after he had slept. We thought maybe he got bug by spiders because we slept on the floor one night but then we started sleeping in the bed and they still kept spreading so I washed all of our bedding to see if that would help but it hasn't. Then the marks on his arm started to scab and look like reashes and everyday when we wake up he has new marks on other parts of his body. Yesterday they spread around his belly and back and to his legs, then while we were working he text me and said he got one on his eye lid. It's been going on for about a week and yesterday I decided it was time he needed to see a doctor. We've been asking my family what they think it could be and most of them have said possibly scabies. Which is pretty gross. It's a bug under the skin that bites, and they are suppose to bite the most at night. I've been doing alot of research on it and I also found out that if you wait to treat it it will get to the point that it will be impossible to sleep because they will be so bad at night. i also read that it can take 2 to 3 months for symptoms to show, so if it is scabies who knows how long he has had it. Ha I probably have them and dont even know. I'm hoping it's not that though and maybe it something less severe. I don't know maybe scabies isn't as severe as I think but it just sounds bad..... and gross! Well we are going to the doctor on my lunch break to find out whats going on so I will update later.

Getting ready for school!

Things around here haven't slowed down at all. In fact, I think they've gotten more busy. Both Andrew and I are getting ready for school. I was able to meet with an advisor last friday and register for a few classes. Unfortunately, because I waited so long to register for classes my options were limited. Most of the classes I need are either full of right in the middle of the work day. Luckily they offer some saturday classes so forhe next few months that will be what the mornings of my saturdays consist of. Which is okay with me, I'm just grateful I'm able to take classes. I'm hoping to get a full schedule right now I only have 9 credits but I'm going to write a letter to a couple professors to see if they will let me submit everything online because I don't think my boss is going to let me miss work. Also, Andrew'sinancial aid came through yesterday and he was able to register for classes so we will both be very busy with working full time and going to school full time but we both are very excited and up for the challenge. My birthday is this Sunday and I have to say I'm a little sad that I'm getting so old, but also happy that I will no longer be a teenager. Life is good here. We miss y'all back home!

The Sibs are here

The siblings have been here for about a week now. It's weird to think they are already leaving tomorrow. It's going to be so weird and quiet not having them around. The first couple days they were here we went and stayed up at the river. We did some swimming, fishing and of course we played some river baseball. The fishing wasn't very good which was weird but we did catch a few catfish and a couple bass. And Aaron did slap a fish and it was hilarious, I will post the video later. I think I laughed for an hour afterwards. Lets see on Monday we went boating.. The very first time the boys got on the tube I was so scared for them because they had the 3 of them on the tube which is never good. When there are 3 people someone always gets hurt. But they did it and when we went around a curve the tube whipped around and the boys went flying. I think they are still a little sore but they should be fine. If you're not sore after tubing you didn't do it right. Andrew and I did a little skiing too. I had done it before so it wasn't too hard but watching Andrew was fun. His very first time trying to get up he totally did the splits. Then the other times he would get up for about 3 second and ten it looked like his skiis flew our from under him. Yesterday Andrew got off early and they all went to the temple... I was very jealous I couldn't go, but andrew promised we could go soon. Well I need to get back to work but it's been nice having the sibs out to visit. we miss everyone back home!! Oh and we will post pics from their trip soon.

MUCH NEEDED WEEKEND

Well right now we are at the cabin and I'm so glad it's the weekend! This week was more stressful than usual. work was crazy nuts. And to top it off I had to take a test at work today and yes it was timed and spur of the moment .(I really don't like unplanned tests) so I'm very glad the week is over. One good thing that happened this week was that andrew got two job offers. He took the wells fargo one and starts monday!! I think he is really excited and I know he will do great. There is also a lot of opportunity to move up also. Another good thing that happened this week was harry potter!! Best HP movie yet. Andrew and I went to the midnight show with my little brother and sister. Andrew and cody fell asleep in the first 10 minutes, but we were waiting there for it to start for over 2 hours. Well I'm going to go check the lines so hopefully we can have a fish fry tomorrow.

A New Song

This week has been pretty busy. There are a few things that I want to highlight. On Sunday, a man dressed in what looked like pioneer clothing walked up to the stand to bare his testimony. He was a man from salt lake city. He was actually traveling from somewhere in Iowa to salt lake....pulling a hand cart. Over 1000 miles all by himself and this guy is at least 60. He had a great testimony and some amazing experiences he shared from his trek.

I started working this week and it has been great. It is harder to find time to do some of the things that i have been doing for the past few weeks because I am spending at least 8 hours a day out of the house.

We also decorated our living room today and i must say that Meg out did herself. It looks very nice and is feeling more and more like home.

Well I wasn't going to do this but Meg seems to think it will be a good idea. I am posting a video of me playing a song with my guitar. It is a song I have started to write, so it is VERY rough. You will also notice I am not the most talented musically but I love to do this stuff...try to do it.

It's called "Saving Lady Marmalade"

Hopefully it is tolerable.

Adding a new addition to our little fam

Well the other day I came home from work and my dad had left his dog Benji in the house and when I got there Benj was so excited to see me. Usually when I come home from work I'm really mellowand tired. But when Benj was there I felt like I had more energy... especially when we went outside and had our little game of tag. anyway I started thinking how I really want a dog so when Andrew isn't home I dont get so lonely. So when I brought it up to Andrew he surprisingly thought it was a good idea. So... Today we're going puppy shopping!!! :) I'll post pictures if we get one!

WORK

WELL IM FINALLY GETTING AROUND TO THE BLOG, IT'S BEEN A WHILE BUT THINGS HAVE BEEN SUPER BUSY IT SEEMS. I STARTED MY NEW JOB LAST MONDAY AND SO FAR I LIKE IT. I WORK FROM 9:30 TO 7:30 BUT THE DAY GOES BY FAST BECAUSE IT'S SO BUSY. YESTERDAY WAS THE FIRST DAY I REALLY FELT OVERWHELMED. THERE WERE A MILLION THINGS GOING ON AND AS SOON AS I WOULD START ON A NEW PROJECT SOMEONE ELSE WOULD CALL AND IT FINALLY GOT TO ME BUT I GOT EVERYTHING DONE AND TODAY WAS MUCH BETTER. DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE THAT I HAVE TO MULTITASK BECAUSE I GET BORED VERY EASILY AND IT KEEPS ME FROM GETTING BORED. SINCE I'VE STARTED WORKING I'VE BEEN SUPER TIRED. I THINK MY MONTH OFF OF WORK IS TO BLAME FOR THAT. LUCKILY FOR ME I HAVE A WONDERFUL STAY AT HOME HUSBAND WHO HELPS ME RELAX WHEN I COME HOME. HAHA HE WOULDN'T BE TOO HAPPY IF HE READ THE STAY AT HOME HUSBAND PART. BUT REALLY IT'S SO NICE TO COME HOME TO A CLEAN HOUSE. HE ALSO HAS DINNER READY WHEN I GET HOME, NOT JUST ANY DINNER EITHER. IT'S USUALLY SOME GOURMET THING HE GOT OFF THE FOOD NETWORK CHANNEL THAT HE PERFECTED :). FOR EXAMPLE, LAST NIGHT HE MADE MEAT LOAF WRAPPED IN BACON WITH A BROWN SUGAR GLAZE. IT WAS YUMMY!

THINGS IN NEBRASKA ARE GOING WELL. I HAVEN'T HAD MUCH TIME TO BE HOMESICK BUT I DID HAVE A DAY LAST WEEK THAT GOT ME DOWN. I GOT OFF WORK EARLY ON FRIDAY AND I STARTED MISSING EVERYONE BACK HOME. I JUST FELT LIKE CALLING OUR FAMILIES. FORTUNATELY THAT AFTERNOON WE WENT TO MY AUNTS CABIN SO IT TOOK MY MIND OFF OF IT. I TRY NOT TO CALL HOME TOO OFTEN BECAUSE I THINK THAT ANDREW AND I NEED TO DEPEND ON EACHOTHER INSTEAD OF DEPENDING ON OUR PARENTS SO MUCH. ANDREW IS STILL LOOKING FOR A JOB. HE DID GET AN OFFER TODAY BUT HE IS TRYING REALLY HARD TO GET OTHER OPTIONS BECAUSE IF HE TAKES THIS JOB HE WILL HAVE TO WORK NIGHTS AND WE DONT THINK THAT WOULD BE THE BEST THING FOR US BECAUSE WE WOULD NEVER SEE EACHOTHER. AND IM A BIG CHICKEN WHEN IT COMES TO BEING ALONG IN THIS HOUSE AT NIGHT. IT'S JUST SCARY BECAUSE THERE IS A CORNFIELD BEHIND OUR HOUSE AND WHEN IT'S DARK THE STOCKES KIND OF LOOK LIKE PEOPLE.... OH AND WE LIVE BY TRAIN TRACKS, SCARY!

ANYWAY, I FORGOT TO MENTION EARLIER, I CHOPPED MY HAIR OFF AND I LOVE IT. I'M GOING TO GO EVEN SHORTER THIS FRIDAY, I WAS JUST TOO NERVOUS TO DO IT ALL AT ONCE. WELL ANDREW AND I ARE HEADING OUT TO POSSIBLY BUY A NEW PLASMA TV. WE MISS AND LOVE YOU ALL BACK HOME!~

House Wife? - andy

Today is Monday and i just finished mowing the lawn (which I do every 4 to 5 days because the lawn grows so fast). I am now sitting on the couch thinking about the tasks I have left to do the rest of the day. For example: clean the bedroom, the kitchen, the family room and do the laundry are some of the things i have to do. Not too exciting i know. I felt like taking a break to fill you all in on the weekend we had up in Iowa.

I was going to post some pictures but I think that Meg took the camera with her to work...she at least left it in her purse, which she has.

Anyway we went up to this little town called onowa, Iowa where Megan's aunt and uncle own a little piece of property up in the hills. The hills were pretty nice to be in. They are the closest things to mountains in miles. While we were up there the weather was pretty nice and not too hot. It was cloudy most of the time and only rained while we were all asleep. During the day time we would go out on the four wheeler or the dune buggy. Dune buggies are freaking cool! There are over 1000 trails to ride around this area...wow! The only problem with the whole place is that unless you are a member of this little community you are not able to actually drive the ATVs...so in order to go out you had to be driven by one of the 3 members we were staying with. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The food was great as it always is when you are out camping.

When we got back from camping we went to our ward and met with the bishop. He is a great man and seems to be very hard working and in tune with the spirit. He talked with us about getting callings asap and i think it made Meg nervous ha ha. Though she doesn't think this, I know she'd do great in whatever position she was called to. She has such a beautiful and strong testimony. I love to hear her discuss the gospel. Tonight for FHE it is her turn for the lesson and I am extremely excited!

Well better get back to work...house work. Peace.

Boom Boom Pow and Argentina (Andy)

I am finally going to take a moment or two to comment about the most eventful week and a half of my life!

A couple weekends ago I got MARRIED! Yes it was the best day of my life and I couldn't have pictured it being any better or going more smoothly! All day long the weather was supposed to be horrible, but it ended up being perfect. The sun was hidden behind a cloud cover, it wasn't windy, rainy or cold. Everything went well with the ceremony. The wedding party looked great walking down the aisle and the funniest part was when our ring barer, Greg, stopped and posed for every camera that lined the walkway...hilarious. The best part, however, was when I saw my beautiful bride for the first time in her dress walking down the aisle escorted by her father's. She was breathtaking! My Dad married us and to me that was very special to be able to have my father be in that position and to hold the priesthood and keys to marry us!
The luncheon was amazing...Costa Vida catered...my brothers sang...my uncle made a video that we watched and we had a few people say some things. The reception was also beautiful. We had a lot of people show up, received a lot of gifts and had fun with the cake, bouquet and garter tosses, and even danced a little. There was one set back..but I need not mention it, those who know what I mean will understand that Meg and I felt pretty disrespected. Anyway...after the wedding we headed to SLC and then on Sunday to Vegas and then finally to Havasu where we spent our honeymoon. I had a blast and was able to ride a wave runner for the first time in my life. A funny thing happened about 200 yards off the shore...I was told to watch out for ropes. "Do not run over ropes!" He said (The man who rented us the jet ski) Well as we were driving out to the middle of the lake in the middle of no where a frayed piece of rope grabbed a hold of the propeller and shut us down. So i swam back to the shore, pulling the ski, megan AND and anchor made out of 3 cinder blocks!!!!!!!! Meg thought it was hilarious! Anyway we got that worked out and had an amazing time.

We are now in Nebraska. Elkhorn, Nebraska to be exact. We have finally gotten everything un packed and most of it organized in our house. Which I must admit is very very cool! I had the chance to mow my OWN lawn and it was awesome! The one thing that i wasn't expecting to be so extreme has been the humidity! Wow I sweated more mowing just the lawn here than I ever did mowing a full days worth of lawns in Utah and I guess the humidity wasn't even bad yesterday! Something to look forward to I guess.

My brother got his mission call today and he is going to the Argentina Buenos Ares North Mission and leaves October 14! I am really excited for him and proud!

Anyway I am waisted tired and the reason that this is titled what it is, is because I downloaded boom boom pow just barely...yes I did!

finally getting a few minutes-andy

Well we are finally here and finally getting a few minutes to relax. I am writing this from my new phone so I won't write much. I am loving being married and most of that has to do with my perfect wife! Our new home is awesome and I think we are very lucky to have it. Well I am going to cuddle with my wife. Peace.

Pics of us in our new home

Andrew mowing our lawn for the first time.
I'm glad he enjoys doing it.

He caught a snake and he did try to make me kiss it

Our New Home

The last couple of days have been so long. Friday Andrew and I packed all day. I thought we would get it done in 3 hours tops... WRONG. It really took us all stinkin day. Then the next day we headed East to Nebraska. JR and Aaron helped us move out and we're so grateful for that. It was nice to have them along and it also saved us alot of money. It was especially nice to have Aaron along because we took turns driving my car so I got a couple of breaks. We finally made it to out house here in Elkhorn Nebraska around 1 Am Nebraska time. Today The 4 of us went to our new ward and spent a couple hours showing JR and Aaron around Arlington. Andrew and I are really excited about going to our new ward and Andrew already made a friend. This little guy named Juan. He came up to Andrew after sacrement and talked his ear off and then when Andrew told him we would see him next sunday he said We should try harder next time. We think he was saying we should try harder to be on time because we were running a little late today. It was funny. After doing a little running around JR and Aaron decided to start making their way back to Utah. This was the hardest part of the move for me. It was hard to say goodbye to our moms because I knew I would miss them so much but this feeling was much different. I was actually scared for JR to leave. I think it was because I knew once he left there was no turning back, and it was comforting having him and Aaron there because it was the one thing that wasn't new. I'm excited but nervous about all the new experiences we're going to have while in Nebraska. Andrew and I will have to learn to depend on eachother more instead of our parents, but I know that's what we need and I think living here will help us with that. After the boys left Andrew and I finally had a chance to spend some quality time together. We have been so busy the last few days that we really haven't had time to do that. In fact I don't think we've hung out with just the two of us since out honeymoon, which was a blast. Anyway, after hanging out for a little bit we got to work with the unpacking. We have 2 of the guest bedrooms pretty much finished and that's it. The living room and Kitchen are still packed with boxes so we have alot of work to do the next few days.
This is us on our honeymoon. We rented a waverunner and it was a blast. We only had one little accident which is really good for the two of us

Our first meal at our new home. Andrew grilled for us!

Only 6 days

Andrew and I are back in G-ville and out of Cedar for good. WHOO WHOO! Right now some of my family is out from Nebraska helping get everything ready for the wedding, Thank goodness. My Aunt Julie and future cousin Emily are both here and they've been helping around the house and getting some of the decorations together. My Grandma Pat is also here and she is helping get my dress together. She used to own her own Bridal store and she made her own dresses so she has been working on my dress, doing all the alterations.

I almost forgot. Before Andrew and I left Cedar Andrew had some things stolen from his room, including out lizzard, Lizzy. We were really bummed because she went missing the day we were going to let her go. Well on Friday while I was at work Andrew was loading up all the things in his room so we could move and he found Liz in the garbage can. She was really skinny and barely alive. At the time I was working with one of my clients, Craig. Craig and I took liz up into the mountains and let her go. It was a good outting for the day and we got to let Liz go so it was a good day

The wedding is 6 days away and I'm so excited!! I get butterflies everytime I think about it. I've been trying to stay busy so that the time will go by faster because when I think about it alot it seems to just crawl by. I feel very blessed to be able to marry Andrew. He is an amazing man and he makes me so happy! I never thought I would get married when I was this young, but I also never thought I would find a guy as great as Andrew.

Right now I'm scanning pictures for my sisters graduation video that my mom is making.. I can't believe Mal is already graduating. I'm really excited for he but also nervous. Part of my wishes I was staying in Cedar so I could keep an eye on her and be there if she needed anything. But I'm sure she will be fine. She's made me really proud lately with the decisions and changes she's making in her life and I know that they are and will continue to make her happy. I love you sissy!

Big Changes

Well It's official, Andrew and I are moving to Nebraska on June 15th. We found out a couple days ago that I got a job as a dental assistant and Andrew and I think it's a good opportunity for us. Andrew has an interview June 16th for a manager position at finish line and has also applied at many other places. We are very excited for a change. As everyone knows Cedar has been quite boring, especially after everyone moved home for the summer. My life pretty much consists of Work, running and watching movies and Andrews life consists of being a house wife (he says), running and watching movies. Today while I was working at turn I got to take Brandi on an 1 on 1 outing because she got 10 stickers. I took her to get ice cream, then we went to the park and after that we went to Wal Mart because she really wanted to look at phones so she knew how much she needed to save up. When we pulled up to Wal Mart we saw the cutest little puppies so we stopped and played with them. After we left i called Andy and convinced him to go look at them. After seeing them he said they were the cutest puppies he has ever seen and he promised that when we move and get settled in we can get a puppy! I'm so excited. Because I get really bored when I'm alone so I need some type of thing to plat with. Also I'm not sure if it's official but we've talked about taking Ben's dog Drake to Nebraska with us while Ben is on his mission. I think it would be fun but alot of work. We would have to build him a pen behind the yard until he learns not to dig it up and also house train him because he wont be able to stay outside in the winter. I have a feeling it's going to be very eventful and I can't wait!! We had been hoping that we would get jobs and be able to move but when it became official I think Andrew and I both got really nervous. Neither of us have been that far away from our parents. We will miss our families so much but now our trips to see them will be another thing we will have to look foward to. Oh ya I forgot to mention since we are living in Nebraska we will have a 4 bedroom house, which means I get to do lots of decorating!

Right now I am sitting at work. It's raining really hard and thundering. I can't wait to get off so Andrew and I can go play in the rain. Before I came here to T-mobile to work I was working at turn and one of the girls I was working with was really nervous about the thunder. she started getting all the flash lights together and making a kit in case the power went out, it was fun. I'm gonna miss those girls so much. I'm a little bummed to have to quit.

Trembling Soul-andy

On the evening of the Father's and Son's I had the opportunity to talk a little bit to the priesthood holders in our ward and in the twelfth ward. My Dad asked me to do so. He also asked me if I would focus on the importance of the priesthood to me while I was growing up.

I talked a little bit about the opportunity that young men have to use the priesthood and how i really feel that they should take advantage of those opportunities. After about 3 minutes of baring my testimony I sat down among the crowd of fellow men. I immediately felt the power of the Holy Ghost overwhelm me. It had been over a year since I took the opportunity to bare my testimony and it felt amazing. I was brought to tears by the power I felt. Not only was the spirit so strong to bring me tears and because of the absence of my testimony for so long, my soul trembled. It was as though I was relieving myself of all the evil and uncleanliness that had built up inside of me. My bosom was then filled with a warm, comforting sensation that reminded me of the happiness that is promised to us when we make the right decisions in life. I am truly grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that it has been fully restored to the earth. This knowledge is what keeps me going daily, I know with Faith in our Savior that anything can happen. No man can enjoy true eternal happiness without the blessings of the gospel and the Savior as his guide.

I cannot wait until the day that I am sealed for all time and eternity to my beautiful Megan. That will easily be the best day of my life so far...until then, that day WILL be June 6, 2009.

Ditching this place

Well Andrew and I had a very boring yet eventful night, if that is possible. We started out watching the cav's game which is always great! ( I LOVE LEBRON) Anyway then I got really bored and when I get bored I get grumpy and really restless so Andrew and I spent out night thinking about what we should do. Eventually we came to the conclusion that we should pack our bags and head to Nebraska that very second... So now we're in Nebraska! No I'm just kidding but we really considered it. I even got up to pack my bag but then we realized it probably wouldn't be smart for me to just not show up to work. If it wasn't for work I really think we would be on our way to Nebraska because that's just how we roll. We like to be random and take chances. So we didn't go to Nebraska, in fact we didn't do anything except watch the game, which is totally fine with me except the the Cav's lost! Seriously they were dominating and then lost by one point.. But I swear LeBron got fouled on that last shot! UGH anyway they should have won, I'm still a little upset about it because I really wanted them to go into the finals undefeated but oh well.

This morning when I woke up I had a text from my aunt saying that there is a job opening at one of her dentsist offices in Omaha and to give her a call. So I talked her and we discussed hours and when I could start (I kind of have to work around the wedding and honeymoon right now) and she is going to let me know tonight whether that will work for them or not. So we have our fingers crossed. Also if I do get the job Andrew and I are planning on moving as much of our stuff as possible to Nebraska this weekend and staying a few days so Andy can apply for a few jobs! Very random but I'm excited! Andrew and I have talked and we both agree that this would be really good for us. It would give us a chance to grow together and it would be a new experience and we're all about new things. Even if I don't get the job I think And is pretty set that we don't stay in Cedar so we will probably move to Nebraska anyway. But we will keep you posted!

No Complaints - Andrew

It is Tuesday and I have 0 complaints. This past weekend was great! On Friday i went with my dad and my brothers to the annual 4th ward fathers and sons!!! There is nothing like it! Though I cannot tell you all that went on, "what happens on the mountain, stays on the mountain", I will give you a run down. Basically there is A LOT of dutch oven meals that are cooked and you can eat as much as you'd like. After everyone ate and settled down a bit, there was a program. In the program there were a couple of speakers, including me, and Ben also performed a song. It was awesome. After the program, the party started. Singing, fire dancin, strumming on the guitars, plucking the banjos and the bass all synced in to what ended up being a jam session for the ages. This event every year is something that I hope I can share with my boys. After everything settled down a group of men and boys did their best to stay up all night. An award of pride that is coveted by every man and boy every year. I just happened to be one of the final 5 that finished strong and watched the sun come up over the mountain side. This was my 5th time doing so.

On Saturday I spent all day helping my family build their new deck. It was a lot of work but it was very worth it! The best part of that day was that Meg decided to drive up to GCity to hang out with me and her fam. I kind of felt bad because i was so ridiculously tired that I fell a sleep on her.

Sunday we had the opportunity to go to Tyler's sacrament meeting. It was a very powerful meeting. The spirit was so strong and the testimonies that were born were wonderful. After the meeting we spent some time at the brunch that was held and at each of our households.

I finally got paid yesterday and was able to deposit it in to my account. Hallelujah!

Overall a great weekend!

Nice weekend with the Fam-

Well it's monday and I'm back at work, but that's okay because I had an awesome weekend. I worked Saturday and was plannin gon staying here in Cedar but I missed Andrew way too much! He was in grantsville helping his dad and brothers with the deck, which looks amazing!! So I went home to Grantsville. OH MY GOODNESS! So I'm at work right now and the scariest thing just happened. A customer came in and I was helping him but then he went off on my boss saying he was a scam artist and started saying all these swear words. Then he started threatening telling him he better watch out when he steps out the store door. I'm shaking right now because I really thought this guy was going to fight him. Anyway I'm glad that's over. Back to the weekend. It was just really nice to hangout with our families. Well I'm getting back to work!

Day 1 w/ no JOB - ANdy

I am sitting here at my apartment and am bored to tears. Today is the first day I do not have a job and it is honestly ridiculously boring!! I have been somewhat productive however. I have done laundry all day, looked for jobs worked on some other random things and ran a couple errands. So i haven't waisted my day. I have also been working on my guitar skills. I am not very good at it but I am improving.

I just read gun's most recent blog and to answer her questions about my excitement...I am very, very anxious and pumped to marry her. After all she is my best friend and who wouldn't want to spend their life with their best friend??? I have just been a little stressed the last couple of days with losing my job.

My plans for the rest of the day: More laundry, more applications, a little workout, maybe some time in the tanning bed, a little lunch with Meg and then more of the same stuff later until gun gets home at 8 pm.

I LOVE YOU TOO HUN!

Work- Megan

Well I'm just sitting at work blogging it up. I'm trying to find ways to stay busy while the store isn't busy so that I don't think about the upcoming weekend. I'm going to be all alone here in Cedar because Andy is going home to Grantsville but I have to work so I can't go. The bad part about it is I only work 5 hours Friday and 5 hours Saturday so I won't have anything to do after that and if you know me you know that I don't do well when I'm not doing something. I wish I could just work all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Actually not sunday because I really want to go to church! I feel like I haven't gone in forever but it was just last sunday... not by choice though. I had to work at turn. This Sunday I don't have to work so I'll be able to go!

Only 23 days till Andrew and I will be married! I can't even wait. I get butterflies everytime I think about it and the last few mornings it's the first thing I think about when I wake up.. I can't believe it's getting so close but I hope the time goes by fast! I'm getting a little anxious. I can't tell if Andrew if very excited, I'm sure he is he just doesn't show it like me. (I went and woke him up this morning to remind him only 23 more days, and then I jumped up and down and got really happy, but Andrew doesn't do that :)) But it's going to be great! I'm really blessed to be able to marry my BEST friend in the whole world. And when were married it will be even better because it will be like having a sleepeover every night with you best friend. One thing I know I need to work on is remembering that when were married it's not just me it's "us". Sometimes when I'm talking to And I'll say "I'm going to do this...." and it frustrates him alot because it effects him but I don't say us I just say me. He's really great about that though. He is always including me in the decisions and everything else and I'm grateful for that. If you read this Andy I love you!

Lovin life -Megan

Well I have to admit I've never liked a job in my life but now I'm blessed to have 2 jobs that I absolutely love! My first job is at Turn community, I get to work with some really special people and honestly I think they help me more than I help them. Sometimes we have our off days with eachother and they like to yell and swear at me but I really love every minute of it. Every person I get to work with is so unique and so amazing! I love them all! Tomorrow I'm working with Craig and Alan and I'm taking them to their softball game and I get to play!! I'm super excited! Since I started working there I feel greater appreciation for the people and things around me. I've realized how blessed I am for the ability to make decisions for myself because some people aren't so fortunate. My second job is at the T-mobile store. It's alot different from Turn but its still really enjoyable and my co-workers are great! I feel really lucky to be able to go to jobs that enjoy.

Today was Andrew's last day of work. Kind of scary for us but I think it is for the best. While Andrew was working there his boss asked him to be dishonest to alot of people and it just wasn't the best situation. Now Andrew and I will have more time together but I'm nervous that he is going to get really bored and I don't want that to make him grumpy. Anyway it's 11 o'clock and that's about the time Andrew and I finally settle down and have time to spend quality time together so I need to take advantage of it!

Last Day, Writing A Song

Right now Meg is at work and I am at my apt waiting. Technically not just sitting here waiting but I am excited for her to come over. Today was my last day of work at My Comfort...I am kind of happy to not be working for someone so dishonest and such a shady company. (I wouldn't refer anyone to use my comfort to get a bed...though there beds are VERY, VERY comfortable) Anyway I spent about an hour talking with Nick about all the things I thought he did wrong and how he can fix them...he didn't really appreciate it, but i don't care he needed hear it. He probably went home and cried on his wifes shoulder..."they were mean to me, please save me."

Anyway, I started to write a new song today and so far I think that it is okay. I have a nice melody, chord progression, lyrics and then where the problem is occuring is the strum pattern... I am having a hard time figuring out the perfect pattern to top it off.

Tennis and losing job

Well today has been pretty crappy for me, Andy and probably a little bit for Meg. It started out okay but slowly decreased in happiness and then finally picked back up after five PM. This morning Meg went to work and left me at home to do some laundry and apply for some jobs in Omaha. As far as accomplishing those two tasks, I only worked on one...the laundry still isn't finished and probably won't be for another day because I am sure my roommate will be doing laundry like he does EVERY single night...waste of money and water. Anyway, the reason i focused so hard on searching for a job was because I talked to my current boss and he informed me that because his head is so far up his lazy a** he is losing his business and after Friday i will no longer have a position...neither will my good buddy Jon. You see there are a few reasons that I have lost my job and every single reason has to do with the fact that my boss has NO IDEA what it takes to run a successful business. I hope he realizes that working 15 hours a week, lying to customers, selling used beds as new and giving away hundreds of dollars of product to customers to close a sale will not keep your business running. Not to mention telling hundreds of St George residents he will honor the coupon in the Dixie Direct for free seat cushions and then not ordering any for 3 months. These are just a few things that is running his business in to the ground. Very frustrating. Had he freaking showed up to work once in a while to take care of the things only the owner of the store can take care of, I would still have a job!!!

Anyway, after Meg got home we went and hit some tennis balls at the courts. It was really fun and funny. Meg isn't the best, but she is still very fun to play with. We took a camera and took one picture ha ha that was the biggest thing for meg...take pics but we forgot and so i took one of her right before we got in the car to leave.

Our First Date: Megan

I had known of Andrew just like everyone knows of everyone in Grantsville but I had never taken the opportunity to really get to know him. That is until July of 2009. I started hanging out with Andrews good friend Paul. ( I later found out that Andrew is the one who persuaded Paul to start talking to me on Facebook) Anyway Paul and I worked together and became pretty good friends. I remember Paul and I used to talk about Andrew and how he was getting out of a relationship and how we felt really bad for him :). Anyway, one day Paul and I decided we would invite Andrew to go swimming with us. We went to his house to convince him to go but when we got there him and his brother Aaron were doing P90X. Andrew didn't seem too interested in going to the pool instead he invited Paul and I to workout with them. Paul turned him down but I said I was down. Somehow I got out of that and we persuaded Andrew and Aaron to come swimming. That was the first time Andrew and I hung out together, even though we weren't actually there for eachother. Over the next few weeks Paul and I would hang out with Andrew occasionally, but I don't think Andrew or myself ever thought something would happen between us. July 24th was the day things started to change. Paul and I invited Andrew to come to Casa with us for lunch and though he wasn't hungry he came anyway. It was kind of funny because a girl he had been hanging out with for a while was there and I kept giving him advice about what he should do about her and I convinced him to go talk to her. After that Andrew tried convincing Paul and I not to go to work but both of us said no. After leaving Casa Andrew and I began texting and I decided not to go to work.... but not so I could hangout with Andrew. Instead I went to St George with another friend. The next day things weren't going to well in St George so I decided to come home early and on my way home I text Andrew to see if he still wanted to hang out. The next day we were discussing what we should do that night and I asked him if he had fishing poles, he text back and said he was just going to ask me if I wanted to go fishing. That's when I started getting axcited about our first date.
That night we both went to the Miss Tooele County pagaent seperatly and afterwards he picked me up in his little red truck. (Yes he did squeal his tires and yes I loves it!) We went to the dam but quickly learned it wasn't the best night to be fishing. The wind was blowing 100 mph and it made things very interesting. Andrew entertained me by trying to string my pole. He kept tangling the string, dropping the weights and to top things off everytime he would stand up his chair would blow away. After about an hour of no success we decided to pack up our things and head to the truck. When we got to the truck we sat in the back and talked and looked at the stars. I knew right away that there was something between us. Everything was so easy and fun with him. After the dam we went to Denny's. I had never spent that long of a time at Denny's in my life and I didn't even mind it. Everything was so laid back with And. We laughed and joked but could also talk about more serious things. On our way home from Denny's And and I decided to make up a little game. I think it was more that I insisted that he closed his eyes while he was driving and let me direct him, and so he did. I had never laughed so hard in my entire life. Sometimes I would laugh so hard that I couldn't open my eyes.... that was scary. After driving around grantsville, playing our game for about an hour I decided it was probably time for him to drop me off. As soon as I got into bed and was trying to fall asleep I realized that I had just had the best first date of my life. I decided to text Andrew. Come to find out both of us agreed that we wished the date hadn't ended yet.

Our first date: Andrew

Having spent my entire life in Grantsville I had met and at least had one conversation with pretty much every single person i went to school with...elementary through high school. The town is so small that it was almost impossible not to. Though during the spring semester of 2008 I found out that maybe there was at least one person i may have missed, her name was Megan O.. The first time I really thought of talking to her or approaching her was actually on Facebook. At the time I wasn't looking for a relationship nor was I interested in anything other than school. Because of my focus on school I decided to try and hook my friend up with Meg...I told Paul that he should talk with her on facebook and he did. For the first part of the summer her and Paul became pretty good friends and i had the chance to go swimming with them and also my little bro Aaron. The first time I formally met her was about an hour before we went swimming. Aaron and I were down in the basement following the hard core workout videos of P90x (anyone who hasn't tried those and wants a REAL, intense workout, I highly recommend it) and the two friends came down stairs to try and convince to quit working out to go swimming. We resisted the temptation and convinced them to wait a little longer for us to finish. The four of us spent about three hours at the complex, swimming and tanning in the sun. After our first time hanging out we spent a couple random times hot tubing with a couple other people, but we had never been there for each other. Finally the day that changed everything came and that day was the 24th of July.

This was one of the most eventful 24th of July I have had in my life. In the morning I went with my family to an early movie and lunch. I cant remember what movie we saw or what restaurant we ate at, but I do remember seeing one of my former co-workers and the elderly lady was excited enough to see me she gave me a hug... Anyway as we were driving home to Gcity, Paul text me and invited me to go to lunch with he and Gun at the local Mexican restaurant, Casa Del Rey. Being that I had already eaten I told him I would come but wouldn't eat. When I got to the restaurant I sat on the opposite side of the table of Paul and gun. They had already started to eat and were in a hurry to get to work at 3. As we sat there talking I made my biggest effort to convince them to take the night off and hang out with me. Both said no. After my second lunch I went to my friend Zach's house and spent a couple hours there watching him, Tony, Kevin and Boone slug it out in an intense game of Risk. As the day went on I continued in my efforts to convince Paul and Gun to stay...but to no avail. However, later that evening Megan told me she was taking the weekend off and heading to Cedar City with another kid...at the time this didn't effect that much. The next evening was Friday night and I received a random text from gun at about midnight that said..."Hey I am back in town we should do something this weekend". So I immediately asked her out for the next evening, Saturday the 26th, after the Miss Tooele County pageant.

The day was finally here and the pageant was over. I picked her up in my little red pick up, threw some lawn chairs, fishing poles and a tackle box in the bed and took her to the dam. It was extremely windy and not a very good night for fishing, but I didn't care because I was already having more fun on this date than i had ever had in my life. She kept laughing at me as I tried to re-string her line and keep my chair from blowing away at the same time. After a couple hours of failure we decided to star watch. We through a blanket down in the back of the truck and watched the stars and joked around with each other. Somehow I was able to get her to give me a back massage and knew then that something special was going to come from this haha. The entire time we were in the truck I felt very comfortable around her and knew that she was someone I could get used to talking to. She was very understanding and kind hearted. After about a half hour in the truck we both decided we were hungry and being that we didn't have any fish to fry, we headed to Denny's. I have never spent so much time in a Denny's with one person. We had an awesome time and some mediocre food...(I find that Denny's is only enjoyable in the early hours of the morning). On our way home from Tooele I was planning on dropping her off as soon as we got in to town...however, the fun I was having changed my mind. We spent the last hour of this epic date driving around town. I was driving with my eyes closed and she was directing me where to go...a lot more fun than it sounds I promise. I finally took her home and exactly at the time I was pulling the covers over my body in bed, about 3 Am, I received a text from gun...and she was bored, I thought to myself "Why did I drop her off?"
